The Rams’ 2026 season opener in Melbourne ended in a humiliating 27-7 loss to the 49ers, largely due to arriving just 24 hours before kickoff while their rivals had a full week to acclimate. Coach Sean McVay bluntly hopes they never play abroad again, blaming the rushed setup for the disaster. Players struggled with jet lag and time zone chaos, making it nearly impossible to prepare properly. Now, with Myles Garrett sidelined indefinitely after knee surgery, the Rams turn their focus to Week Two against the Giants — hoping better preparation and a familiar home field can spark a turnaround.
