The Detroit Lions defense is in freefall after a brutal Thursday Night Football loss to Buffalo, surrendering 41 points and five Josh Allen touchdowns while struggling with stops, rushing yards, and penalties. With 71 points allowed in just two games, defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard is under fire—and whispers are already swirling about potential replacements. Names like Kacy Rodgers, Gerald Alexander, Ryan Nielsen, Aden Durde, and Jim Schwartz are emerging as possible candidates to steer the unit back on track before the 2027 season. The pressure’s on, and the search for answers is already underway behind the scenes.
