As oil and gas prices continue to be driven by the war with Iran, President Donald Trump has announced an oil deal with Venezuela, which would give the U.S. roughly 65 billion barrels of the country’s oil reserves. Acting President Delcy Rodríguez touted the deal as an economic growth opportunity for Venezuela. But NBC News chief White House correspondent Garrett Haake explains why it won’t bring U.S. prices down anytime soon.

Then, in Nepal, more than 900 people have been confirmed dead and thousands are still missing from last week’s catastrophic flash floods, including dozens of Americans, according to the U.S. State Department.
