Happy Labor Day! The annual celebration of American workers is rooted in the late 1800s, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday after technology introduced during the Industrial Revolution massively reorganized how people worked. Some say we’re seeing that reorganization again today, with the introduction of artificial intelligence. And just like back then, there are people who say AI will yield huge wins for the economy and prosperity – and others who are ringing alarm bells. Today on the show, Erik Brynjolfsson, professor and senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI and director of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab, helps us understand how the AI revolution is already reshaping the workforce and how you can prepare yourself.
