You learned how to keep going when you were hurting.

You learned how to show up when you were exhausted. You learned how to take care of everybody else, figure things out on your own, hide your emotions, and say “I’m fine” even when you were falling apart inside.

And somewhere along the way, survival became a way of life.

In this powerful episode of Through My Father’s Eyes, we’re talking about what happens when the survival skills that once protected you begin preventing you from experiencing the life God is trying to give you.

Maybe people call you strong, independent, dependable, and resilient—but they don't know what it cost you to become that woman.

Maybe asking for help feels uncomfortable.

Maybe rest makes you feel guilty.

Maybe you struggle to trust people.

Maybe peace makes you nervous because you're always waiting for something to go wrong.

Maybe you've become so accustomed to carrying everything that you don't know who you are when nobody needs you.

Sis, functioning isn't the same as healing.

In Episode 89, we dig into hyper-independence, emotional walls, childhood survival patterns, fear of vulnerability, difficulty receiving love and support, and the dangerous belief that being strong means handling everything alone.

We also talk about the difference between boundaries and walls and why some behaviors we call “strength” may actually be armor we developed after being hurt.

Most importantly, we're asking a question that could change the way you see your healing journey:

Who would you be if you weren't constantly trying to survive?

God didn't bring you through everything you've survived just for you to spend the rest of your life emotionally living there.

You survived it.

Now it's time to learn how to live.

This episode includes biblical encouragement, powerful reflection questions, healing affirmations, a declaration, and a closing prayer for the woman who is finally ready to put down the armor and experience peace.
