While I was on maternity leave, a friend gifted me a subscription to The Postpartum Post, a monthly mail club for new moms created by Cameron Moss. Each envelope has a theme letter, original poem and art prints, journal prompts, a surprise paper good, and access to an online community called the Village. Cameron grew it from 27 members to more than 2,000, including over 1,000 in a single day after a video went viral. In this episode, I share what Cameron told me in our interview: how the idea came out of her own postpartum poetry, how she and her husband pack every envelope by hand, the economics of a $12 a month subscription, and why I think the people who win at community building will be the ones who stop copying and pasting. If you’re a creator, artist, or membership owner who has wondered how a mail club works, this one is for you.
