Uncle Wiggily's June Bug Friends is a short story in which the bunny rabbit gentleman's small act of kindness — rescuing a frightened June Bug from his living room and tucking it safely into the pansy bed — sets off an unexpected chain of events. When Uncle Wiggily and the young goat children Nannie and Billie Wagtail tumble into a trap dug by the cunning Bazumpus, escape seems impossible. Then a familiar buzz fills the air, and the June Bug returns with a plan that surprises even the doubting Billie.
