"Uncle Wiggily and the Fiddler" is a short story following Uncle Wiggily, an old gentleman rabbit still searching for his fortune along a sandy beach. When a tip from a slow-crawling snail leads him to a grand midnight dance of the sand fleas, the party is nearly ruined — the musicians can't come and there is no music to dance to. Rather than seize the glittering gold and diamonds around him, Uncle Wiggily sets off into the dark to find a solution, recruiting a fiddler crab and a puff fish along the way.
