It's Wednesday, so it's college football and rants. Coach and Mikey P open with the new AP Top 25: Georgia climbs to No. 1 after winning 20-17 in Tuscaloosa, Texas tumbles to No. 7, Kentucky sits at No. 15 after beating LSU 35-34 in overtime, and Lane Kiffin's LSU has slid to No. 22 — three spots ahead of a ranked Northwestern. Coach argues Kiffin's arrogance after the Ole Miss loss is catching up with him; Mikey makes the case for Will Stein's Kentucky and breaks down the race for the four first-round byes.
Rant Wednesday: Mikey goes after Micah Parsons' podcast comments that Jayden Daniels "probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job," while Coach insists Daniels gets paid long before Quinn stays. Coach then rants about Kelly Clarkson calling out a Brooklyn shop on social media, talks fame and substance in the influencer era, and shares a dream of turning the brand's reach into give-back videos.
Back to School previews the weekend's biggest games: No. 2 Notre Dame at No. 8 BYU with College GameDay in Provo, No. 18 Oklahoma State at No. 20 Houston, No. 3 Miami vs. Florida State and Mike Norvell's hot seat (preview), No. 6 Alabama at No. 14 Tennessee, and No. 4 Ohio State vs. No. 5 Indiana. The show closes with Sean McVay owning Monday night's special-teams failures after the Rams released kicker Harrison Mevis. Takes and predictions are the hosts' opinions.
