What if you grew up seeing ghosts and simply assumed everyone else could see them too?
That's essentially what happened to sisters Natalie and Stephanie. In this episode of The Shaman Stories Podcast, we explore their unusual journey from childhood paranormal experiences to becoming intuitive mediums, spiritual coaches, energy workers, astrologers and haunting investigators. Stephanie recalls seeing a ghost at around five years old while staying at a babysitter's house. As the sisters grew older, they eventually realized something surprising: not everyone was experiencing the things they considered normal. Rather than shutting those experiences down completely, they eventually began exploring Wicca, spirituality, energy work, astrology, mediumship and other traditions. One of the ideas we keep returning to is that intuitive abilities may not belong to a special group of people. Natalie and Stephanie describe intuition, mediumship and the different “clairs” as abilities that can potentially be developed rather than gifts reserved for a chosen few. We also go deep into paranormal investigation. Unlike investigators whose primary goal is capturing evidence, Natalie and Stephanie say their purpose is usually helping people who are frightened or confused by what's happening in their homes. When appropriate, that can include communicating with spirits, clearing the space and helping spirits move on. We also discuss something I believe is incredibly important for anyone doing spiritual or energetic work: Boundaries.
