Trump Administration Reports Nearly 1,300 Tren de Aragua Gang Arrests
The Trump administration has intensified its campaign against Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan transnational gang, through federal task forces established in 2025 to identify, arrest, and remove criminal networks operating in the United States.
According to The Washington Examiner, law enforcement arrested 1,296 alleged Tren de Aragua gang members between January 20, 2025, and October 8, 2026, and charged nearly 350 members and associates with federal crimes.
The administration describes the operation as its largest-ever effort against transnational criminal organizations, crediting the campaign with helping reduce violent crime nationwide.
The initiative reflects the administration’s broader focus on combating organized crime, strengthening immigration enforcement, and improving public safety.
