Big Watt Digital and PowerHouse Data Centers won a 5-0 Taylor City Council vote on a 664-acre, gas-powered data center campus, with no tax abatements, reclaimed-water cooling and a developer-projected $1.38 billion in city tax revenue over 20 years. The same Thursday night, Lexington, Kentucky's council voted 11-0 to extend its data center moratorium through October 2027, freezing development plans, zoning changes and permits. For CRE land buyers, the entitlement calendar now matters as much as the power.
