After closing out their loose album trilogy with 2023’s introspective ‘The Noble Art of Self Destruction,’ Welsh post-hardcore trio Holding Absence jumped at the chance to explore new sonic territory on LP #4.

Vocalist and self-confessed emo weeb Lucas Woodland joins the show to chat about the upcoming release of ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’ (out August 28th through Sumerian Records), embracing an external lyrical perspective, the influence and impact of science fiction, what it means to truly yearn, and why their record is, at its core, a “touch grass” chronicle.
