Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel

Will Russia Attack NATO?

Is Russia about to invade NATO? Is the “Special Military Operation” into Ukraine about to creep into Latvia, some of the other Baltic States, or Poland?

Is the United States and Europe so weakened by their own military and economic problems that Russia sees this as their best opportunity to take back land from Europe that they feel rightfully belongs under Russian control?

How about a conspiracy? Is it possible that Russia and Germany have conspired together to allow Russia to attack Europe’s eastern flank without Germany’s interference, and then later divide the conquered land between them? Or instead, that a deal between the coming King of the North and Russia will lead to the conquering of the United States and its British-descended allies, consistent with Daniel 11:39?

Did Daniel prophesy that the European King of the North would be troubled by powers from its north and east in Daniel 11:44-45? Could that be referring to Russia and parts of Asia?

Did the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah warn that a Russian-led confederation would conquer the end-time 'daughter of Babylon'?

How about Gog and Magog? Is the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 about to be fulfilled? Was Hal Lindsey right that Russia is the prophesied King of the North in Daniel chapter 11? Is Armageddon right around the corner?

Do you know the answers to those questions with 100% certainty? Do you really know how Gog and Magog fit into the timeline of Biblical prophecy? Are you sure?

God knows. God knows the answers to those questions with 100% certainty.

And He wants to reveal those answers to you. Watch this video as Dr. Thiel shines the light of Biblical truth on Russia’s real role in end time prophecy.

Will Russia Attack NATO? The King of the North with Dr. Bob Thiel

Dr. Bob Thiel joins host Steve Dupuis to weigh reports of Russian drones over Romania and Western warnings of a limited attack on NATO against Bible prophecies in Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, Jeremiah 50, and Isaiah 13.

Drones Over Romanian Airspace Steve Dupuis opens the Bible News Prophecy program by asking Dr. Bob Thiel whether the conflict in Ukraine is spreading toward NATO. Thiel points to fallout in neighboring countries such as Romania, where, as of August 17, four Russian drones had been shot down in Romanian airspace. He cites an ABC News report that Romania has counted at least twenty-three violations of its airspace by Russian drones this year. Thiel then reads a statement from the Romanian Ministry in Bucharest, which says there is so far nothing to suggest Moscow intended to violate its airspace. The ministry added that it could not conclude the rise in drone incidents came from deliberate attempts to target specific locations. Thiel lets the official language stand while noting how carefully it is worded. Dupuis takes the answer as a starting point and moves quickly toward the bigger question of whether Russia is preparing to strike the alliance itself.

Western Warnings Of A Limited Attack Thiel reports that Western intelligence agencies are increasingly concerned Russia may be preparing a limited hybrid operation against NATO's eastern flank, particularly involving the Baltic States or Poland. He cites a CNN report that US intelligence assessments suggest the Russian president could try to test the alliance's resolve by launching a limited attack on an allied country within a few years. Thiel acknowledges that NATO's leaders say they are ready, but he notes that some people think Moscow could get away with a small attack. He reads a warning from former German Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, who said in May that Russia might attack because of doubts about whether the United States would come to the aid of an attacked European nation under Article 5. Guttenberg also said Europeans are not yet capable of effectively defending themselves. Thiel concludes that this gives Vladimir Putin, in the article's view, a clear window of opportunity to act.

Ezekiel 38 And The Prince Of Russia Thiel turns to a booklet called The Prophesied Prince of Russia, which argues from Ezekiel 38 that Putin will probably conquer more nations of the former Soviet Union, and that the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have already been targeted by hybrid attacks. He reads Ezekiel 38:2 and notes the booklet's claim that the phrase should read prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, with Rosh as the ancient name of Russia. A list of possible places tied to the prince is garbled in the source transcript, so its exact wording is uncertain. Thiel asks who this prince of Russia really is and whether such a conquest is plausible. He then cites a 2008 article warning that Germany's leaders may already have made a modern Hitler-Stalin pact with Russia, dividing countries and assets between them. Thiel says the article's closing question, whether Russia and Germany will divide Europe as they did early in World War II, is answered with a no. Dupuis asks why, and Thiel turns to the chapter's setting.

Germany, Russia, And The Coming Reckoning Thiel moves from the article to what he calls the real alignment behind the headlines. He argues that Russia's deal with Germany is not about giving up European Union nations, but about eliminating the United States and its British-descended allies and dividing them up. He cites Daniel 11:39, which he reads as describing the European King of the North conquering the power with the strongest military and fortresses, the United States, and dividing the land for gain. Thiel then quotes an old Radio Church of God article from 1962 that asked whether Germans could rely on the Americans and British, and concluded they should make a better bargain with the Russians. He also reads a line claiming that most Americans and Britons are unaware of what Germany and Europe are plotting. Thiel turns to Revelation 13:3-4, describing a European beast power whose military accomplishments astonish the world, and says this conquest will include a confederation of Islamic nations in the Middle East and North Africa.

The King of the North and Kings of the East Dupuis asks where Russia fits into the end-time picture, and Thiel answers that Daniel 11:44 says news from the east and the north will trouble the European power. He reasons that this points to Russia and Asia as an alliance against Europe. Turning to Revelation 16:12-16, Thiel says the sixth angel dries up the Euphrates so the way of the kings from the east is prepared, and he says Russia is clearly part of that group. He notes that China, which has almost the most people, is increasing cooperation with Russia. Thiel rejects the view of the late Protestant Hal Lindsey that Russia is the King of the North, because there is no power north and east of Russia. He then reads Jeremiah 50, which speaks of a people coming from the north and a great nation raised up against the daughter of Babylon. Thiel quotes Herbert W. Armstrong, who wrote in 1982 that these nations will come against what he calls Catholic Europe, and Thiel says Russia would lead that northern force.

A Later Date And Closing Warning Thiel reads Isaiah 13 as a parallel to Jeremiah, describing the burden against Babylon that Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw, with a multitude of nations gathered together and the Lord musters an army for battle. He describes every man's heart melting in fear, with pangs and sorrows like those of a woman in childbirth. He says the passage and the Jeremiah 50 account describe the same invaders, and that it is about a later time, not now. Thiel places this particular attack no earlier than 2032 or 2033, and says that is the absolute earliest he thinks it can happen. He is careful to say he is not predicting it will happen then. He expects military incursions before that time, but says biblical prophecy shows Russia conquering much of Europe only after the United States and a coming Islamic empire are conquered first. He closes by insisting that Ezekiel 38 is not for our age. Dupuis thanks Thiel and directs listeners to biblenewsprophecy.net for more interviews, articles, and audio.
