Bible News Prophecy with Dr Bob Thiel
Prepping for Reality
With world conditions being what they are; with the wars and rumors of war with the mushroom cloud of nuclear war hanging over our heads are you prepared?
Are prepping plans designed for the real world with elderly, ill, and young people?
Do you have a flashlight, batteries, a can of tuna fish, and a hand crank radio stuffed into your 50-pound bug-out bag? Does your grandmother have one too? How about your young son or daughter with chronic physical problems in need of regular prescription medicine? Do they have their bug out bag stuffed under their bed next to their Barbie doll or Darth Vader sword?
Are you really prepared? Or are you kidding yourself?
Are you prepared for this, which Jesus prophesied, "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened" (Matthew 24:21-22). In other scriptures, Jesus gives information on how to prepare (cf. Luke 21:36; Revelation 3:7-10).
Are ALL true Christians going to be protected? Or does Revelation 12:14-17 reveal two groups of believers, one group that is protected and the other which is subject to Satanic persecution?
What did God inspire the prophet Zephaniah to write about how the faithful in these times should prepare?
Do you want to be really prepared? Do you want you and your family to really be prepared for the worst? Then…
Watch this video as Dr. Thiel shines the light of Biblical truth on fake vs. reality prepping. Through the use of scriptures Dr. Thiel makes clear the path to safety from the horrors of the great tribulation that is right now looming on the horizon.

Prepping for Reality: Why Physical Survival Plans Fail and What Jesus Said to Do Instead
Dr. Bob Thiel tells announcer Steve Dupuis that most prepping plans are unrealistic and unbiblical, arguing from Revelation, Zephaniah, and the Gospels that real safety before the Great Tribulation lies in watching, praying, and gathering with the Philadelphian remnant.
Questioning Prepper Assumptions
Steve Dupuis opens the Bible News Prophecy program by asking Dr. Bob Thiel whether most prepping plans are realistic, given how many people are stocking supplies and preparing for hard times today. Thiel answers no, pointing to an article that argues standard prepping advice assumes a prepper is healthy and alone, while most households actually include elderly parents, young children, people on medication, and other complications that make simple government-style plans insufficient once the power goes out. He calls this an ordinary condition of American life rather than a rare exception, and distinguishes between what he calls real, true prepping and fake, false prepping. Thiel warns that the situation coming to the United States will be far worse than most preppers or anyone else currently expects, setting up the rest of the conversation about why physical preparation alone will not be enough.
How Bad It Will Get
Asked how much worse things can get, Thiel answers worse than ever before, quoting Jesus in Matthew 24:21 describing a great tribulation unlike anything since the beginning of the world, a time so severe that no flesh would survive unless those days were shortened for the elect's sake. He says some Americans will survive for a time, but many will become slaves, and large numbers will flee to mountain bunkers, a scenario he says Amos 3 and Lamentations both describe, quoting Jeremiah's line about being pursued on the mountains and ambushed in the wilderness. Thiel concludes that hiding in the mountains might protect a few people briefly but not permanently, because pursuers will track them down. He states plainly that this kind of physical, hide-in-the-mountains prepping plan is not biblically sound, since scripture itself predicts that most who try it will ultimately be captured or killed rather than saved.
Watching, Praying, and Philadelphia's Promise
When Dupuis asks how to prep for reality, Thiel turns to Luke 21:36, where Jesus tells his followers to watch and pray always so they may be counted worthy to escape what is coming. He reads Revelation 3, verses 7 and 10, in which Jesus tells the church of Philadelphia that because they kept his command to persevere, he will keep them from the hour of trial that will test the whole world. Thiel explains that Jesus is describing physical protection available specifically to Philadelphian Christians who watch, pray, and support God's work, not a general promise to all believers. Asked whether there are other types of Christians, Thiel says yes, including false ones, but notes Revelation describes seven types of true congregations, and that Jesus indicated most people living in the end time will belong to the lukewarm Laodicean group rather than the watchful Philadelphian one.
Two Wings and a Gathering Decree
Thiel turns to Revelation 12, reading verse 14's description of the woman, representing the church, given eagle's wings to flee into the wilderness for three and a half years, and verse 17's account of the dragon making war on the rest of her offspring who keep God's commandments. He says this shows two groups of true Christians, one that flees and one that does not, and ties their fate to the prophet Zephaniah's command to gather together before a coming decree and the Lord's fierce anger. Thiel reads Hebrews 10:23 and 2 Thessalonians 2 to argue the New Testament likewise instructs believers to keep gathering as the day of the Lord approaches. He adds that the old Worldwide Church of God taught in 1979 that Zephaniah 2 concerned protection for those who were spiritually ready, a teaching he says applies to Philadelphian Christians today.
The Continuing Church of God's Role
Dupuis asks who will issue the decree Zephaniah describes, and Thiel points to Amos 3:7, which says the Lord reveals his secrets to his servant prophets, suggesting a prophet may announce it personally or pass it to others in the church. He identifies the Continuing Church of God as the only church of God in the twenty-first century teaching this full picture, and states his belief that it represents the Philadelphian remnant within a broader Laodicean era. Thiel warns that anyone not affiliated with the group leading what he calls the final phase of God's work will not flee when the time comes, and adds that most churches of God do not claim a living prophet, while other groups claiming one have, in his view, been proven false. He frames gathering together before the decree as essential preparation that most believers are currently neglecting.
Real Prepping Versus False Prepping
Returning to practical prepping, Thiel cites Luke 21:36 again alongside Proverbs 22:3, which says a prudent man foresees evil and hides himself while the simple walk on and suffer, and Matthew 24:43-44, where Jesus compares watchfulness to a homeowner readying for an unexpected thief. He states that most Christians will not be protected from what is coming because they will not support the Philadelphian portion of God's work, and insists confidence should rest in God rather than bunkers, since no location in the United States or Canada will serve as a physical place of safety. Thiel allows that ordinary emergency supplies are still scripturally reasonable, citing the example of the ant, and Matthew 6's assurance that God provides for those who seek his kingdom first. He closes by urging listeners toward real, scripturally grounded prepping rather than the carnally minded approach of typical preppers, and Dupuis signs off directing listeners to biblenewsprophecy.net.
