Josh Howerton's Lakepointe Church runs 400 AI facial-recognition cameras on its own staff while he preaches against mass surveillance.

The Coram AI system Lakepointe bought advertises that it identifies persons of interest, tracks license plates and enforces compliance, and insiders count those 400-plus cameras on the Rockwall campus alone, sitting in most staff offices under a rationale of catching infidelity. Howerton answers the criticism by telling critics to pick a lane, but his own podcast episodes denounce China and North Korea for doing exactly this, and his staff quietly delete Instagram comments asking whether the church used Generous for its $225 million fundraising ask. The same pastor tells his congregation that not voting commits passive rebellion against God, which reads as a sin declaration aimed at anyone who skips Donald Trump. Brenden Dilley, who built the "So God Made Trump" meme video Trump posted about himself, admits on camera that information doesn't have to be true, it just has to go viral, and a 2023 clip catches him promising a hidden group of armed people will wipe out everyone on the left in under an hour.
