Amex Gold Mining Sees a Path to Build Perron Without New Debt or Equity | Victor Cantore

Victor Cantore, President & CEO of Amex Gold Mining, joins Kitco Mining’s Paul Harris at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit in Beaver Creek to discuss how the company is advancing the high-grade Perron gold project in Quebec from exploration toward production.

Amex is developing a permitted 40,000-tonne bulk sample while building underground infrastructure intended to carry into Phase 1. Cantore says the program is designed to demonstrate Perron’s high-grade mining performance while advancing the project toward production. The Phase 1 feasibility study outlines average production of approximately 147,000 ounces of gold per year, AISC of 910perounce,C193.9 million in initial capital and an approximately six-month payback at a $3,500 gold price.

Cantore also argues that bulk-sample and pre-commercial production could potentially fund much of the remaining Phase 1 build, reducing the need for additional debt or equity. Management is targeting late 2027 for the next major permitting step, while exploration continues across Amex’s 570.94 km² Quebec-Ontario land package, including increased attention on copper-rich VMS targets.
