Episode 157: Jack Natz (EXP, Cop Shoot Cop)

EXP is the latest musical project of underground, rock n’ roll veteran Jack Natz (alongside his wife, visual artist and musician A.E. Csaky).

Together, with a host of guests, friends and former collaborators (like Swans and former Cop Shoot Cop percussionist Phil Puleo) the pair last week released their debut, self-titled record on Reptilian Records.

Recorded at the legendary BC Studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn, NYC with Martin Bisi (who I interviewed for episode 149 of Whatever Comes Next and for a forthcoming New Noise Magazine column feature); EXP is as quirky and off-kilter as you would hope.

I was excited to talk to Jack Natz about the record and some of his long, fascinating history in music and beyond. So that’s what we did and here it is. I hope you will enjoy.
