The James Webb Space Telescope may have identified a bizarre cosmic object known as a black hole star—a compact, extremely luminous structure containing a massive black hole surrounded by a dense hydrogen envelope.
The discovery could explain the mysterious “little red dots” seen in the early universe and offer new clues about how the first black holes and galaxies formed.
