Welcome to the latest episode of Marbella with Him & Her, a weekly podcast about life in Marbella brought to you by expat couple PJ Lopez @pjlopez1marbella and Hannah Murray @radiohannah
This week they start with something they forgot to do last week by thanking their friend Evelyn for locating an actual vanilla pod!
There is a welcome and shout out to all new listeners of the podcast as their audience continues to grow.
They also chat about their friend and one of PJ's quiz team members Peter who turned 90 during the week. Last Sunday they went over to friends Peter and Debbie's house with lots of other friends for a surprise birthday party to celebrate his milestone.
Hannah updates us on her latest tattoos she has had done which were mainly connected to her late mum. She has had a bumble bee, a Wren (her mum's name) and a tuktuk with the Sisterhood spelt out in Tamil. She also had some exciting news about the TV show she is a presenter on every week called Good Morning Spain. It has now expanded its coverage on Spanish regional TV through Murcia, Almeria and Madrid.
PJ gives an update on the Vuelta España and roughly what time it is scheduled to pass through San Pedro next Friday 11th. They also share details of a post PJ made during the week about long-term rental prices in the area which received a lot of comments. Most people were equally upset at the ever increasing rental rates and it seems the increases have even reached as far as Alicante and even Northern Spain.
During the week PJ went out for food with some colleagues as one of his friends was heading back to the Netherlands to complete his studies. So of course they ate at Remy. Listen to find out what they ate and how much it was.
Saturday night they were out celebrating their friends Meadhbh's birthday at Luini in San Pedro. After that they headed back to the Hogan Stand which was rammed due to the final fight of Irish legend Katie Taylor, which was being fought in front of over 80,000 people at Croke Park. Huge congratulations to Katie on retaining and remaining undisputed champion!
This week's Euro Weekly News articles include the annoyance of people parking across 2 parking spaces, although PJ did make a good point. There was also an article which coincidentally spoke about the Spanish rental crisis, and in particular a couple who have been forced to sleep in their car as they are unable to secure a rental. There is an update om some additional flight routes and low prices and the expansion of Wizz Air, which is now rivalling Ryan Air.
