Why do Cardi B and Dolly Parton somehow give off the same energy?
I kept seeing people make the comparison, and I understood it immediately. They’re from completely different generations, genres, and backgrounds, but there’s something about their confidence, femininity, sexuality, and willingness to be “too much” that feels strangely familiar.
Then I started researching.
Dolly famously modeled parts of her iconic look after the woman in her hometown everyone called the “town tramp.” Cardi B has never hidden her history as a stripper. And Dolly herself once talked about seeing pieces of herself in women like Cardi, particularly their boldness.
As a woman who works in the adult industry, there’s another layer to this that I recognize.
There’s an aura to women who become comfortable being seen.
