Shake The Ground Podcast | S02EP03
This week on Shake the Ground, Áine O’Boyle shares a story she has carried privately for years.
While on Erasmus, Áine experienced a sexual assault, an experience that changed her relationship with safety, trust and herself. In this episode, she speaks openly for the first time about what happened, the aftermath of that trauma, and the journey of finding her way back to herself.
We also talk about Áine’s experience with an eating disorder and body image, and what recovery has looked like for her. There is also chat around her current love for runnning & Pilates, with lots of girly giggles between some heavy topics.
But this conversation is also about so much more than what Áine has been through. It’s about healing, rebuilding, learning to trust yourself again, and recognising that the hardest chapters of our lives can shape us without having to define us.
An incredibly honest conversation about trauma, recovery, strength and the woman Áine has become on the other side of it.
Content warning: This episode contains discussions of sexual assault, trauma and eating disorders which some listeners may find distressing. Please take care while listening.
