Story Transcript:
En: At the market in Lviv, under colorful umbrellas, an autumn mood prevailed.
En: Oksana and her brother Maksym strolled between the stalls.
En: The air was filled with the scent of roasted chestnuts, and red and orange leaves rustled underfoot.
En: Oksana, always neat and practical, loved cooking.
En: She kept her enthusiasm for Halloween a secret, fully aware that in Ukraine, this holiday is barely celebrated.
En: But this year, she wanted to add something new to the family table — something mysterious and exciting.
En: "Look, what beautiful pumpkins!"
En: Oksana said, stopping by one of the stalls.
En: "Maybe we should try making something unusual?"
En: Maks, tall and serious, shook his head.
En: "Why not leave everything as it is?
En: These extra gimmicks aren't needed by anyone."
En: But Oksana didn't back down.
En: She always knew how to turn the ordinary into something special.
En: Walking between the rows, she became inspired — she saw beets, kale, honey, and even dried rosehip berries.
Uk: "Я знаю!
En: "I know!
En: We can make borscht with a hint of Halloween," she declared excitedly.
En: Maks only smiled, but seeing the sparkle in her eyes, he sighed and agreed: "Alright, show me what you can do."
En: In the kitchen, Oksana was conjuring with the selected ingredients.
En: She added beets until the borscht gained a rich, almost mysterious color.
En: Instead of the usual decorations, she used pumpkin trimmings, carved into interesting shapes.
En: The dessert consisted of baked apples with honey and nuts, creating the image of little pumpkins.
En: The evening for the family began hesitantly.
En: Her brother and other family members looked cautiously at the table.
En: But once they tasted the dishes, their initial surprise smoothly turned into delight.
En: The traditional taste combined with new nuances, and everyone liked it.
En: Maks, having tried the borscht, smiled: "Perhaps this is really something new.
Uk: І воно.
En: And it's...
Uk: Вражає.
En: Impressive."
En: Oksana realized that change could be good.
En: Her brother, seeing the joy on the faces of their relatives, agreed too.
En: The celebration went wonderfully, and although Halloween remained in the background, the delight she brought left no one indifferent.
En: Thus, Oksana discovered a new path for herself — combining traditions and experiments, finding their place even in a small town at the market in Lviv.
En: And Maks now more easily agreed to something new, seeing how much joy changes can bring.
