What if manipulation doesn't always look like manipulation?

In this 20-minute conversation, I explore the subtle ways the need for validation is masterfully executed through manipulation. Even if you have to lie, deny and exaggerate your unconscious goal is to get the validation you never got from your father or mother. A hole that can never be filled but instead creates more disconnect in your relationships. When an unfilled child runs your life it will never choose an adult behavior of accountability. Without awareness, and accountability there is never a depth of romance or connection with those nearest and dearest to you.

It's worth asking the questions:

Do you seek validation instead of taking responsibility?

Do you deflect when someone asks you to be accountable?

Do you use vulnerability, withdrawal, affection, or romance to influence an outcome?

These are uncomfortable questions, but they’re worth asking.

The point isn’t to label yourself—or someone else—a manipulator. The point is to become conscious of the habits that may be creating harm in your relationships.

Because recognizing a pattern gives you a choice: keep repeating it, or change it.

If something in this conversation makes you uncomfortable, perhaps that’s exactly where there’s something worth looking at.

Are you willing to see yourself clearly enough to change?
