RHOP S12 E2 Recap: Wendy vs. Karen — Who Owes Whom an Apology?
RHOP Season 12, Episode 2 — “Sofia Home!”
The drama continues on The Real Housewives of Potomac as Tia deals with the fallout from discovering her husband Rob on a dating website. Feeling humiliated and questioning the state of her marriage, Tia opens up about how the situation affects her children, especially her daughter Sienna. Gizelle eventually takes accountability for how she handled the information, apologizing to Tia for not coming directly to her. But with questions about Rob's past behavior still unanswered, the damage to their marriage is far from resolved.
Meanwhile, Wendy is navigating her own difficult chapter as she faces an upcoming court hearing. During an emotional visit with her mother, Susan, Wendy reveals how hurt she feels by the lack of support from some of the women, particularly Karen. Although Robyn offers Wendy a chance at a clean slate, tensions remain over whether the group can put their differences aside and support her during this challenging time.
Karen plans a celebration called “Sofia Home,” inspired by Oprah Winfrey's character in The Color Purple, to commemorate her return home and entering her “soft era.” But the event quickly becomes a spectacle when the women arrive at a strip-mall wellness center, unsure what to expect. Dressed as Sofia, Karen surprises everyone with a spa-themed gathering featuring beauty treatments, massages, and plenty of shade. From Gizelle's comments about the location to Karen's jokes about the other women's appearances, the event is anything but relaxing.
The biggest confrontation erupts when Wendy challenges Karen's claims about wanting to help women who have experienced incarceration. Wendy feels Karen has been a poor friend, especially after bringing up her mother and allegedly kicking her while she was down in New York. Karen fires back that Wendy never showed the group how much she was struggling, while Wendy questions Karen's own accountability and whether she was truly receiving treatment during her time away.
Elsewhere, Stacey continues working on her relationship with Thiemo, while Courtney opens up about her marriage, past infidelity, and plans to expand her family. Ashley also attempts to soften her approach with Tia, acknowledging that her previous comments may have hurt her.
By the end of the episode, Karen's wellness celebration has turned into a full-blown showdown, Wendy is demanding accountability, and the friendships in Potomac remain as complicated as ever.
