A Request for Evidence, or RFE, is issued when USCIS determines that your petition does not contain enough documentation to make a final decision. An RFE is not a denial. However, it signals that USCIS has concerns about eligibility or documentation. In marriage-based cases, RFEs most often focus on whether the marriage is bona fide—meaning entered into in good faith and not solely for immigration purposes.
