Hey Mama,

Back-to-school season is here, and if you're already feeling like your calendar is filling up faster than your coffee cup, you're not alone!

This week, I'm bringing back one of my most popular back-to-school episodes… but with a twist. While the foundation is the same, I've updated it with new lessons, fresh tips, and a behind-the-scenes look at how our own family's routines are changing this year.

This school year looks very different for us. Ashley is heading off to college, which means we're adjusting to life without our extra driver, learning new routines, and navigating all the emotions that come with a new season of motherhood. At the same time, Kaylee and Michael are starting another school year, and just like many of you, I'm looking for simple ways to stay organized without adding more stress to our days.

In this episode, I'm sharing the systems and habits that help our family start the school year feeling calmer, more organized, and less overwhelmed.

In This Episode, We Talk About:

  • Why having one shared family calendar creates a single source of truth for your household
  • Building your schedule around your non-negotiables before filling in everything else
  • Creating simple morning and evening routines that make busy weekdays easier
  • Why I've become a big believer in simplifying where you can—even if that means buying school lunch instead of packing it every day
  • Setting healthy after-school screen time boundaries
  • Creating systems that reduce decision fatigue and mental load
  • Why protecting margin on your calendar is just as important as staying organized
  • Simple ways to make back-to-school season feel more intentional and less chaotic

This Week's Reminder

You don't need a perfect plan to have a successful school year.

You just need a few simple systems that support your family and the flexibility to adjust as life changes.

Remember, organization isn't about doing more—it's about making life easier.
