Featuring smart friend Liz of the Multiverse School, here to add computer science expertise to the conversation. Pitch: if you hate AI, it could benefit you to learn exactly how it is bad and how we could make it better. If they pull the plug on ChatGPT (the kleenex of AI) there will still be some guy in his basement with a powerful enough open source copy (*that we cannot realistically erase from the world*) who can use it to compromise the security of everything that you do on the internet. Saying fuck AI slop is super valid but it will not stop the pentagon from developing autonomous drones. Equating personal use of an LLM with cataclysmic problems like networked state surveillance accomplishes nothing. Being aware of what is clickbait/misinformation vs what is actually dangerous, AND asking what do we do now that we are walking this path (which again, it is not technologically possible to stray from, unless we confiscate every basement dude’s computer)... well it just seems like a good thing, ya know.

Liz also runs an online academy! It’s designed to make tech education more accessible, aka less bro-coded, for people the industry has traditionally overlooked >> check it out at themultiverse.school
