Matthew Farwell's twin traded his testimony for immunity at the Sandra Birchmore trial. William Farwell admitted being intimate with Sandra while serving as a Stoughton officer on duty, and those words can't be used to prosecute him.

Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty in July 2025 to four University of Idaho murders and told the judge he was satisfied with his attorneys. His petition claims those attorneys coerced him. Judge Steven Hippler vacated every date on the calendar the night before a hearing on Kohberger's motion to remove him, which argues the judge's sentencing comments show bias. Prosecutors want the petition dismissed without a hearing as bare and unsupported.
