Prosecutors have requested the transcripts of Bryan Kohberger's July 2025 plea hearing, where he pleaded guilty to murdering four University of Idaho students.

That record has Kohberger saying yes, he's pleading guilty because he is guilty. His July 2026 petition says his attorneys coerced him, but at the plea he said he was satisfied with them.

Kohberger's team wants a new judge, arguing that what Judge Steven Hippler said at sentencing shows bias. Prosecutors' answer, citing State v. Beam, is that a judge can't sentence anyone without forming strong opinions.

The hearing on that request was scheduled for October 15, 2026. Hippler vacated it the day before, along with everything else on the calendar. Under the amended scheduling order, any new hearing dates have to be set by August 2027.

My guests, former FBI agent Robin Dreeke and Bob Motta of Defense Diaries, take on what that transcript does to his coercion claim.
