Los Angeles native Angela Petrilli is a bit of a pioneer in the music influencer space (at least, we like to think so). Known online for her weekly “Riff Rundown” videos on the Fishman YouTube channel, during which she breaks down a popular classic rock guitar riff for her thousands of fans, she continues to find new and interesting ways to collaborate with her fanbase directly. Like her latest Kickstarter campaign, which raised over $35,000 in support of her new studio album with her band, Angela Petrilli & The Players. If you’re a guitar player, you’ve very likely seen Angela Petrilli’s content online.

Marilyn had the opportunity to sit down with Angela to talk through these latest projects, her philosophy on social media growth, and how Marilyn’s first music industry job in LA helped Angela and her then bandmate, Jenny Pagliaro, land an early brand deal with Martin Guitar.

Note from Marilyn: Angela’s bandmate Jenny tragically passed away in 2019 after a brave battle with breast cancer. I had the opportunity to work with both Angela and Jenny in support of their duo project, Roses and Cigarettes, which served as inspiration for my own pursuit of music industry success. Please consider a donation to either Metavivor or Rover’s Retreat in Jenny’s honor.
