This week on The Cut Music, Brad and Moosh take a deep dive into the history of Ska, tracing the genre from its Jamaican roots and early origins through its evolution, its influence on punk and alternative music, and the reason its unmistakable sound is still alive and kicking today.
Brad also takes Mike up on a challenge: find a ska song that uses double bass. Brad delivers as always, playing some crazy Ska fusion tracks.
Mike wasn’t actually there for this episode, but that doesn’t mean he stayed quiet. While editing the show, Mike adds his own commentary from post production, turning the episode into something like in Looney Tunes when Daffy Duck is being screwed with by the artist, who ends up being Bugs Bunny. Can't wait to see who Moosh got to sponsor this episode...
This is the second time Brad and Moosh have recorded a show without Mike. The first time pissed him off. So consider this episode Mike’s revenge.
He may not have been in the room...
But he was absolutely in the edit.
