Seattle’s music scene is way bigger than flannel and grunge—and The Cut Music is taking the scenic route through it.

Mike, Brad, and Moosh build a Seattle playlist that swerves from early emo and alt-rock to underground hip-hop, power-metal glory, strange sonic experiments, and the roots of a genre that changed rock forever. Expect Sunny Day Real Estate, Queensrÿche, Heart, Death Cab for Cutie, Shabazz Palaces, Minus the Bear, Mother Love Bone, Vitamin D, and more.

There’s love for the obvious, respect for the underrated, a little debate over whether something is secretly reggae, and enough Trans Am energy to make the Pacific Northwest proud.
