This week on the Musicians Mentor podcast I speak with South African born singer/songwriter/producer and Goth/Darkwave band 'The Awakening' founder - Ashton Nyte.
Ashton and I first crossed paths at a gig that both our bands were on, when I was probably around 16 years old. 'The Awakening' had recently had a number one single on the Rock charts over there with their cover version of 'The Sound Of Silence, and it was pretty clear (to me atleast), that they were destined for more.
Fast forward a few decades and frontman, Ashton Nyte has proven beyond a doubt that he truly is quite the creative force, having released over a dozen albums under 'The Awakening' banner, eight solo records and even written two books.
In this interview, Ashton and I talk about his entrepreneurial mindset, his company 'Intervention Arts', his decision to relocate to the United States', tour life and even - Elvis.
