Hello and welcome to a special review podcast on Dopamine Chamber, the 5th and brand new album from Irish post-punk, indie bands Fontaines D.C.
Fontaines D.C.'s 2024 album Romance has turned them into the biggest UK guitar band of their generation. They're headlining festivals and, from next summer, stadiums, they have every chance of becoming the 2020's version of Oasis or Arctic Monkey's for young guitar music loving fans. The final thing they need to do to cement that legacy, release another big hitter of an album. Dopamine Chamber is their attempt at doing just that, continuing the alt-rock feel of Romance and making another set of post-punk, industrialised synth heavy rock songs with frontman Grian Chatten's unmistakable vocal charm at the forefront.
