Do you a red flag when you see it in the IBD nutrition space? Let's talk about it....
The cures, overpromising and the stuff that just doesn't land right. We talk about it from the perspective of an IBD dietitian and IBD patient.
We have seen *red flag* nutrition advice like 🚩 Promises for cures 🚩 Blaming the person for not following the approach enough 🚩 Calling fiber being "inflammatory" (fiber is not inflammatory FYI) 🚩 Encouraging fasting with those that are under nourished already 🚩 Overly difficult restrictions 🚩 A long list of supplements recommended that aren't explained fully 🚩 Encouraging a black and white mindset 🚩 Utilizing fear within marketing and guidance
As patients - we have experienced this ourselves also. Have you experienced any of these? Let us know.
We love helping provide quality content on IBD nutrition and making it more accessible to all through our podcast, instagram and youtube channel. Creating the resources we provide comes at a significant cost to us. We dream of a day where we can provide even more free education, guidance and support to those with IBD like us.
We need your support to do this. You can help us by liking episodes, sharing them on your social media, subscribing to YouTube and telling others about us (your doctors, friends, family, forums/reddit etc).
Can you do this for us? In return, I promise to continually improve what we offer to you on all of these platforms!
