Jason and Alexia Preston welcome Justin Riggs back for a difficult investigation into how abuse allegations have been handled within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its legal system. Using court records, deposition testimony, emails, and other documentation, Justin examines the experiences of Michelle Nielsen and Gina Johnson Pemberton, two women who independently reported allegations connected to Bluffdale, Utah. Their accounts raise serious questions about the role of Kirton McConkie, the LDS abuse hotline, church leadership, attorney-client privilege, and what happens when victims seek help from an institution whose lawyers are also responsible for protecting that institution.
