When Deloitte asked automotive professionals what would help women reach leadership, mentorship and sponsorship ranked highest at 67%. The finding comes from the firm’s 2025 study, Driving Diversity and Inclusion for Women in the Automotive Industry, which surveyed nearly 600 people in more than 25 countries. In Deloitte’s study, nearly 70% believe women are underrepresented in automotive leadership, while some younger professionals say they feel somewhat unprepared for the changes happening across the industry.   Berveleen Mashonga is an award-winning mobility and automotive technology leader and a passionate advocate for women in STEM.
