A Ranger's Reflections, Part 1: The Battles of Lexington & Concord

Join Katie and Luke in conversation with retired National Park Service Ranger Rick Lawson for an in-depth exploration of the Battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. Against the backdrop of mounting tensions over British taxation, the occupation of Boston, and the erosion of self-government in Massachusetts, colonial militia and minute companies confronted British regulars marching to Concord to seize military supplies. The fighting marked the opening of the American Revolution, with the "shot heard round the world" at the North Bridge becoming an enduring symbol of the conflict's beginning. Rick also reflects on his years interpreting this history at Minute Man National Historical Park, where this sacred ground is preserved and its history commemorated.
