Today’s episode is about a topic that’s close to my heart, mind and soul. We’re going to talk about psychedelics. Yup! Another podcast with a bunch of white dudes talking about their amazing trips.

Let’s start by defining what psychedelics are. Psychedelics (also known as hallucinogens) are a class of psychoactive substances that produce changes in perception, mood and cognitive processes. The word itself means “mind-manifesting” and comes from ancient Greece. Psychedelics include a wide range of different plants and substances, but the most well-known are magic mushrooms, lsd/acid, mescaline (also found in San Pedro and Peyote cactus), various forms of DMT (also found in different plants, animals and even ourselves). Because of many decades of misinformation, political agendas and simple ignorance, all psychedelics are categorized and perceived as illegal drugs with no health benefits to the general public. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and in this episode I’m going to try to explain why that is.
