October can be one of the hardest months of the year for survivors of ritual abuse and extreme trauma. As Halloween approaches, frightening decorations, disturbing images, and painful reminders can bring overwhelming memories andtriggers.

In this episode of Only God Rescued Me, Lisa and Mango talk about why this season is so difficult for survivors and how we can support one another through it. Lisa shares practical ways to find calm, protect ourselves from triggers, and focus on the beauty God has placed around us.

Through our daily October challenges, we're learning to reclaim a month that has held so much fear and pain. We don't have to let the darkness define this season.

Each October can become another step toward healing. God is bigger than the darkness, and He has carried us through every October before. He will carry us through this one, too.

Hang on. We're going to get through this together! ❤️

A Note from Lisa

I come to these conversations as a survivor, advocate, author, and educator. I hold a bachelor’s degree in education, but I am not a licensed counselor or mental health professional.

The conversations and information shared on Only God Rescued Me are intended to encourage, educate, and give survivors a place to tell their stories. They are not a substitute for professional counseling, medical care, or individualized mental health advice.

My perspective is shaped by my own lived experience as a survivor and by what I have learned through listening to and walking alongside other survivors. I encourage each listener to make the choices that are right for their own healing and, when needed, to seek support from qualified professionals.
