Duke Blue Devils secure a major win on the recruiting trail as Asa Montgomery, a top-10 2027 prospect and USA Basketball standout, commits to Jon Scheyer’s program. Could Montgomery’s versatility and high ceiling cement Duke’s dominance in college hoops for years to come?
Locked On Blue Devils covers Montgomery’s rapid rise, fit with Duke’s evolving roster, and existing chemistry with future teammate Jojo Boumtje Boumtje. The conversation explores Scheyer’s recruiting strategy, his knack for developing high-upside talent like Kon Knueppel and Sion James, and the impact of Duke’s exhibition dominance heading into the regular season. Plus: a look at the upcoming Duke vs. Boston College football matchup, highlighted by the challenge of defending dynamic QB Mason McKenzie and the implications for ACC play.
Is this the start of another powerhouse Duke class—and can the Blue Devils carry preseason momentum into March?
