Welcome to episode #289 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional!
In this episode, we break down weekend 1 of the MW4 beta, as it is finally upon us after much anticipation. We go over the main points that have been a major point of contention for the playerbase, and then talk about what Infinity Ward needs to do in order to recapture some of the fans that have parted ways with the series. We discuss whether it’s simply series fatigue, lack of innovation, or that our age group has moved on from gaming altogether or to other games. This comes off of the lower than normal player count on the beta, and some issues that even after weekend 2, still persist. We give our overall thoughts on what the game’s potential is, and what we think it will end up looking like at launch.
With weekend 1 and 2 of the beta in the books, what did you think of the differences between the two beta weekends? Did you like the changes that were made, or is there still an underlying issue with the core game that needs to be fixed? What are your main pros and cons with the game so far? Do you think this COD will bring players back to the franchise with DMZ on the horizon, or is it too late to recapture that audience? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week.
