In 2015, I pressed play on a recording by a woman I'd never heard of, and within minutes I was thinking, where has this woman been my whole life? That started a decade with a teacher who changed everything for me. 

Then, not long ago, that relationship shifted, and I learned something about who belongs at the center of a spiritual life.
