I’m in Ontario as we get ready to open The Psychology of Cults tour in Richmond Hill. Today I want to examine two Canadian criminal cases that couldn’t look more different on the surface. Roch Tear - EEE - OH called himself Moses and led the Ant Hill Kids into isolation, violence and murder. In Toronto, Church of Scientology operatives infiltrated government offices, including the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of the Attorney General. Neither crime happened in Richmond Hill itself, but both tell us something important about what can happen when loyalty to a person or an organization becomes more important than law, evidence, family and ordinary human decency. I’ll share what investigators can learn from each one, how the criminal courts handled them, and why those lessons matter to families today. And please come and see me on October 21 in Richmond Hill. Tour information is at PsychologyofCults.com.
