✍️ ABOUT PLATO

Plato (428/427–348/347 BC) was a philosopher in Classical Greece and the founder of the Academy in Athens. His work laid the foundations of Western philosophy, political theory, ethics, and science. Through the dialogues of Socrates, Plato explored some of humanity’s most enduring questions about justice, knowledge, virtue, reality, and the ideal society.

The Republic, written around 375 BC, is his most influential work. Through a wide-ranging dialogue on justice and the ideal state, Plato introduces concepts that have shaped political thought for over two millennia, including the philosopher-king, the tripartite soul, the Form of the Good, and the famous Allegory of the Cave.
