Numbers is full of instructions, details, and another census,but those details are telling us something important about how Israel was to live with God’s presence in everyday life.
As we continue into Numbers 3, we’ll explore the roles of the priests and Levites, why not every Levite was a priest, and how their responsibilities helped Israel safely approach a holy God. We’ll also see how their service reflects Israel’s larger calling to be a priestly kingdom and represent God to the nations.
These chapters remind us that God desires to dwell among His people, and the boundaries He establishes help us understand both His holiness and His desire to be near.
