Numbers probably isn’t where you’ll go looking for a life verse, but it’s an important part of the Bible’s foundation. Israel has been redeemed from Egypt and experienced God’s presence, provision, and power—now we get to see what happens when they have to trust Him in the wilderness.
Numbers is a story of the in-between: God’s people have been redeemed, but they haven’t reached their destination. Their failures reveal just how human they are, while God’s faithfulness continues to hold the story together.
As we begin Numbers, we’ll look at how it connects to Genesis, Exodus, and Leviticus, what life with the tabernacle actually looked like, and what Israel’s wilderness years teach us about knowing and trusting God in our own in-between seasons.
