Friends of the Rosary,

Christ the Lord explains the parable of the sower today in the Gospel (Matthew 13:18-23): the seed is the Word of God, and the soil is the human heart.

Some hearts are hard, some shallow, some crowded with anxiety and worldly distractions. Only the good soil hears, understands, and bears fruit.

That is the invitation: don’t just “hear” God’s Word. Make room for it. Pull out the thorns that are choking our peace: worry, distraction, resentment, hurry. Consciously hand them to God. Let it go deeper than emotion. Let's become patient, merciful, and bear real fruit.

Saint Sharbel’s life points in the same direction. The Saint we honor today lived hidden, prayerful, and poor, but his quiet holiness bore fruit far beyond what anyone could see at the time. God does some of His deepest work in silence.

Saint Sharbel, pray for us!

Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!

Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
