M. was thirteen when she was murdered in Burnaby’s Central Park in July 2017. Ibrahim Ali was arrested and charged with first degree murder in September 2018.
This is Part Three, the final episode in our series on her case. After eight months of trial, both sides deliver their closing arguments, and a jury decides Ali’s fate. In the days that follow the verdict, a gun is allegedly brought into the courtroom. Then comes sentencing, and the appeal that followed it, an appeal that is still ongoing.
